A Dream About A Dream, About A Dream
At some point during the summer of 2017, I started having a recurring dream…
Before I get to that, let's pause and catch up a bit…
So far, I have been sharing my memoir about time I spent in Alaska, how I got to Alaska, why I left Alaska, and why I kept getting pulled back to Alaska.

The parts I let you see in my writing are only the parts I permitted myself to reveal.
You see, sharing such detailed personal information is not easy for me. I dare say, it’s not easy for anyone. Yet to discover the world around us and learn about the vast possibilities that we have not yet witnessed or even contemplated, we must share our inner vision.
I’ll say it again: we must share our inner vision.
Why?
Because our inner vision is the only thing worth seeing; our inner vision is the only thing worth sharing.
Without our inner vision, we are simply pushing rocks up mountains, hoarding gadgets that sparkle, whispering wind to ashes, placing value upon piles of rubble.
I titled this memoir “Peace, Walk, Now: A dream about a dream, about a dream.”
We are now on the chapter that explains what this title means, what this effort of posting weekly newsletters has been about.
We are getting to the “why” of this writing endeavor…
The real journey I have been unwrapping here is the passage that forged my inner awakening to a greater peace within my consciousness; an awakening to a peaceful heart.
On the way to peace, I have experienced a great deal of turmoil. Alaska found a way to anchor me in a place outside this turmoil. Yet it wasn’t Alaska that set the anchor, it was the inner compass that guided me to Alaska and inspired me to lean in to be anchored.
Some have called this the peace that surpasses understanding.
I think we all dream of being “anchored.”
This dream takes on different forms for each of us. My dreams have changed over the years and decades. Some dreams have been worth letting go. Some dreams were not worth pursuing to begin with. Some dreams kept me locked up in a reality that was never going to provide me access to the deepest desire of my heart.
I have learned to dream again…
REFLECTION MOMENT:
What do you dream about?
What has true value for you?
What dreams are you still holding on to that are taking up real estate in your heart?
Is it time to move the dream forward? Is it time to let the dream go?
Is it time to dream again?
Your dream is just as relevant as mine.
